Rodney Barker has a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law with emphasis in Business Law, Criminal Law, and Family Law. Mr. Barker has a Bachelor of Arts from Portland State University and holds degrees in Business Administration, Business Finance, and Business Management. Other educational areas of interest include state of Oregon Certified Mediator, and Distance Learning Teaching Academy Graduate.

Mr. Barker is an Attorney at Law, and he is currently teaching business and criminal justice at Mt. Hood C.C. as part of the tenure faculty. Additionally, Mr. Barker has eight-years of management experience in retail, and he currently owns two businesses: Mustard Seed Publishing, LLC; and Bar Exam Essentials, LLC. Teaching/Advising is one of Mr. Barker's passions, and he has taught at Portland State University since 2003, Portland Community College, and now at Mt. Hood Community College as the director of a two-year degree program “Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management," a one-year certificate program “Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management," and general advising for Business degrees and Transfer degrees.

Advising people to start businesses and successfully operate them is a passion. Whether it is a troubled business or a new start-up that is just trying to get through the maze of paperwork, he works tenaciously to make it happen.
